Central vacuum cleaner installation

Installation concepts and materials for standard systems and Sense by Sistem Air heat shrink hose systems.

How to install a central vacuum cleaner

Installing a central vacuum system is extremely simple, but requires a few basic precautions to guarantee performance over time.

The golden rule of a perfect central vacuum system is to guarantee a vacuum. And comply with the following conditions:

  1. correct measurements have been taken
  2. use the installation equipment designed for the central vacuum system
  3. the central vacuum cleaner chosen is suited for the room to be cleaned
  4. the inlet valves are chosen correctly

Which central vacuum system to choose

This phase defines the positioning of the central vacuum unit and the corresponding inlet valves to ensure the best possible performance in terms of surface coverage and comfort of use of the vacuum system. You can choose between two types of installation, standard or Sense with retractable hose, which are equivalent.

Standard installation

Traditional installation involves mounting one or more inlet valves on the wall; to use the system, the 7 m or 9 m hose must be connected.

Position the inlet valves at strategic points in the house by drawing circles with a radius of 7 m or 9 m (to scale) on the floor plan, simulating the length of the hose that will be used for cleaning.

Consider inlet valves near the stairs or outdoor areas you wish to clean and take into account any obstacles that could reduce the reach.

Typically, one inlet valve can cover an area of about 35 m². For this reason, it is not necessary to have a inlet valve in every room.

Sense installation

Sense, with the retractable hose system, allows you to install one or more inlet valves on the wall. The cleaning hose is integrated into the system and simply needs to be pulled out for use.

Position Sense in a central point of the home, to get the best performance, by drawing circles on the floor plan, with a radius of 9 m, 12 m or 15 m (to scale), which simulate the length of the hose that will be used for cleaning.

Again, consider positioning the inlets close to the stairs or outdoor areas you wish to clean and take into account any obstacles that could reduce the radius of action.

In most cases, one Sense is enough to cover the entire surface of the property.
